    Evidence-Informed Policy Network (EVIPNet) (Open)

    Main Goal:
    The main goal is to promote links and exchanges between EVIPNet teams and other participants, highlighting the contributions that may benefit the EVIPNet network and teams.

    Meeting Objectives:
    1. Present a brief overview of EVIPNet (Evidence-Informed Policy Networks), its goals, and achievements.
    2. Facilitate opportunities for EVIPNet participants to learn more about the use of systematic reviews as part of the EVIPNet Project.
    3. Promote collaborations among EVIPNet teams and other Colloquium participants; promote partnerships and contributions to EVIPNet teams.
    4. Provide the debate on is sues of evidence for health, the role of the Cochrane Collaboration and other organizations in EVIPNet, and potential contributions.

    Target:
    Health professionals, researchers, policymakers, consumers, and civil society members, and allows them to discuss issues related to the systematic use of research evidence for public health.

    This session is to help newcomers to assess whether and how they might contribute to the work of The Cochrane Collaboration - where they might ‘fit in’.

    Humberto Saconato (Cochrane Menstrual Disorders and Subfertility Group)
    Elizabeth Waters (Cochrane Health Promotion and Public Health Field)

    Rodrigo Salinas will describe what Cochrane reviews are, and their relevance to clinical practice. Humberto Saconato will address how, as a potential contributor t o a Cochrane review, one can identify suitable co-authors with whom to work, and briefly describe the editorial process involved in preparing a Cochrane review. Liz Waters will speak about the role of a Cochrane Network, both as a source of support and in facilitating contact between a contributor and their Cochrane Review Group; she will also discuss ways of disseminating the findings of Cochrane reviews to relevant audiences.
