Developing Countries Stipends

Criteria

Criteria

Applicants must be contributing to The Cochrane Collaboration as an author, hand-searcher, peer-reviewer, translator or editor, or be co-ordinating Cochrane activities in their locality. Active involvement must have started no later than October 2006.

Stipends are intended primarily to benefit places where The Cochrane Collaboration has not yet been well established. Applicants from countries where there is no Cochrane Centre will have an advantage over those applicants who live in a country with a Cochrane Centre.  Centre staff are not eligible to apply for stipends; it is the responsibility of the Centre to raise funds for their staff to attend the Colloquium.

Priority will be given to those applicants who will have an active role within the Colloquium, such as giving an oral or poster presentation or facilitating a workshop.

Applicants were required to provide letters of support from the entities of which they are a member. Applicants with no letter of support were disqualified from the stipend process.

Successful applicants are expected to attend for the duration of the Colloquium and to submit a one-page report afterwards on their experiences.

Brazilian applicants were not accepted this year.
