Developing Countries Stipends

How to apply

How to apply
 
1. Request a letter of support from each Cochrane entity you are affiliated with.  You should not be employed by this entity. The letter of support should be sent from the each Cochrane entity directly to the Developing Country Stipends Committee at stipend.colloquium@bireme.org.   Letters of support letters should be in English and should include the following information:

•    A description of how the applicant is involved with their entity
•    How long the applicant has been involved with their entity
•    The contribution the applicant has made to their entity (including details of any Cochrane  reviews or protocols.
•    The reasons why the entity is interested in supporting the application (how will the applicant’s attendance at the Colloquium benefit
      the entity)
•    The specific roles in which the applicant will be involved during the Colloquium such as giving an oral or poster presentation or facilitating
     a workshop.

2. Complete an application form ( Download the Application Form ).  Applications need to be submitted in English. Please remember to include the following information with your application:

• The approximate date when you became actively involved in The Cochrane Collaboration and a description of your specific involvement.
• Details of any Cochrane reviews or protocols you have published as of Issue 1, 2007 of The Cochrane Library.
• The specific roles in which you will be actively involved during the Colloquium, such as giving an oral or poster presentation or facilitating a workshop.
• A detailed description of your needs for funding (see example included in the Application Form).
• Any additional funds that you have raised.

Completed application forms should be sent to the Developing Countries Stipend Committee by email stipend.colloquium@bireme.org for the attention of Vanessa Pedrosa Vieira. 

                                                                   Application closes on Monday 25 June 2007 at 12h00am (- 3 GMT)

What happens next

Applications will be acknowledged by email within 2-3 working days.  Applications will then be screened and those meeting the eligibility criteria will be considered by Developing Country Stipend Committee. You will be notified of the results of your application by Monday 30 July 2007 please include a fax, email or phone number for contact at this time
