Jimmy Volmink is Director of the South African Cochrane Centre as well as Professor and Deputy Dean (Research) at the University of Stellenbosch, Faculty of Health Sciences.  He has a special interest in evaluating strategies and therapies for the control of tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and cardiovascular disease and in bridging the gaps between research evidence and health care decisions.
