Objective: To identify and examine solutions for some common issues in conducting overviews of reviews.

Summary:
A project was completed that summarises and presents reviews of interventions to change health-care professional and consumer behaviour, organisational structure and financial systems from the Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Group and the Consumers and Communication Review Group (C & C).  Potential issues while searching, screening Cochrane and non-Cochrane reviews, extracting data, assessing quality, combining results from individual reviews in meta-analysis and vote counting, and interpreting and presenting results, will be discussed. 

Attendees will participate in small groups to identify and examine possible solutions and weigh pros and cons of these solutions with respect to resources, methods, transparency, accuracy and interpretation. 

Intended audience: Anyone interested in conducting overviews or in the methods of overviews.

Technical level expected of participants: Intermediate.
