Workshop type: Discussion.

Objective: To discuss the concept of study-based registers and demonstrate current examples.

Summary:
This workshop will combine a structured, theoretical discussion of study-based registers with practical demonstrations of current examples. Topics for discussion will include:
• what are study-based registers;
• how to build and maintain a study-based register;
• what are the benefits and pitfalls for those involved in developing and using these registers (e.g. TSCs, authors);
• the current software available for these registers and the advantages & disadvantages of these products;
• the potential of study-based registers for integration with RevMan & the Collaboration’s current Information Management System (Archie).

Intended audience: Trials Search Co-ordinators and any other interested persons.

Technical level expected of participants: Basic.
